Sashiburi da ne? ....HP is S***

I haven't had much stupidity to talk about lately.....so. I figured i would talk about how crappy HP's are. It shall be short.

As some of you might know, I operate solely from an HP. And today, I have experienced the greatest frustration. For those familiar with Alba, there is a extra exp this weekend, and I was hoping to lvl my noob char. To my disarray this morning Norton completely crashed. I know this to be an HP problem, because HP is the only computer I have ever had the displeasure of using, that demanded the use of Norton. I spent 5 Hours trying to get a new trial (no cash atm) and rebooted more than 10 times. I couldn't play Alba, and even thought it might've been corrupted, so I wasted an hour dl'ing it again. 0.0 Needless to say, after i got a s**tty 15 day trial....*poof* Alba and everything else worked just fine. "why not consult someone about it crashing?" I was banking on the full 90 day trial I has until I could get some money, now I have 5 less days, and lost a lost of time on Alba. I was crying.....

Actually, I wasn't going for random. I was being very serious. HP has screwed me over time and time again with that desperate need for Norton. I was depressed/angry for about 3 hours. 0.0

Whats up with that? You can't even setup computer properly?
You are bound to have problems with packet computers.

Uninstall Norton and problem solved.

Anti-Virus programs never work anyways, it's a waste of resources, hard drive space and sanity.. All they do is give you a false sense of security.

Only If you use Linux. Windows is one huge harvester when it comes to malicious software. I recommend avast. So far haven't had any problems if you don't count the 5 sec freeze when it updates (for me it's set automatic). It also has alerted me few times of virus and saved my day. Sure there are lots of other programs I have running to protect my computer/privacy. Biggest problem with norton and other fully commercial anti-virus programs is that they most often attempt to destroy each other if you have them on same computer.

All of you are so great. I knew everyone would comment. But if anyone noticed, I said my comp ONLY works with Norton. I've tried everything else.

*stab* I can set up fine, but some programs won't run without Norton, such as Alba.

(lol)

I've got an hp. uninstalling norton gave me great joys back when I got it. (seriously... put me in a much better mood)

never had a problem with other antivirus programs either, they work fine... though I haven't bothered to install any (I tried running a scan the other day just to see if I happen to have gotten anything in the ages that av soft was not installed, and... what do you know... nothing :o

in any case... norton is one of the worst antivirus software programs I've seen. between using it and using nothing, I choose nothing. there are others that are decent enough to use though. just, I haven't had a problem without any (nothing much of importance on here anyway) so I could care less.
oh and... I don't see why hp would require norton. I have an hp, and it works just fine without norton or for that matter any other av program I've tried.

Sometimes it might be just the games or so that have the problem, like I play a Game called "GG Client" on my HP and I can play it with Norton on, while my other Online Games, such as Cabal, cannot work unless I don't have it on my HP.

Delete Norton properly, clean the Windows registry with Ccleaner. Install Antivir or Avast, and verification of the firewall option and adjustement!

i would personally recommend NOD32, this AV is great but provided you install V2.7, cuz the newer versions require you to buy the sofware, however V2.7 is easily patched and works 100% with optimum protection. and by the way, HP PC's SUCK big time!

I love you all, but DS was the only that listened. I have put months into this, going the more programs than you can imagine (even some in other languages(that still failed) I cannot put anything on my computer besides Norton. For all of you that have hp, and don't require Norton #1 You're probably using XP, not vista #2 While its a crap shoot, besides Avast, Norton is the best #3 Try to play Alba, on Vista, without Norton......good luck. If I could use Avast (which i also tried yesterday) I'd be one happy s.o.b. right about now.

Btw, I don't mind much about 'having' to use Norton, it does everything I want it to, with limited editing on my part, I was just supremely pissed when I woke up to it crashing. I'm complaining about HP's defects :gjob:

If I were to take off Norton, I would be flooded with trojans in about a day. Some programs might not work, such as most gaming programs and a few non-stock programs.

I think you have the Norton Pack: firewall, anti-virus, etc.
When you delete Norton, the best is to read their how to and FAQ  (the last time I ever heard of this programm is for his complicated eradication).

Personnaly I have a modem-router, an anti-virus and ad-adware and no ***wares.

Orly? I don't use any sort of antivirus and haven't had any trouble for years. Nothing can protect you more than being conscious of what you're downloading.. I'm not saying don't download anything, just be cautious... And use firefox.. heh. :X

hmm so about the norton problem. Seeing as how you absolutely need norton try to see if you can get a free 1 yr subscription from an educational institution etc. My school used to give them out all the time to us but they recently switched to mcafee. Ask friends from other universities, one of them is bound to be norton.

Or better yet the non-legit way:

google some torrents for
Norton 360 (10 Years Subscription)
Norton LiveUpdate for 100 years etc.

patches and keygens included of course. Although be careful and don't dL an infected exe. How to tell if legit? Read comments, # dLers etc. Also i kno it seems ironic but virus scan it as well. Who knows, last thing u need is a virus from anti-virus software.

bleh. seeing as how he mentioned going to the atm (im assuming for money to pay for the actual software) i figured he could use a free copy instead. no one should have to shell out what norton asks for, its robbery.

...and yes sithreis is not a dumbass. At least i don't think so. It's not like i told him to try uninstalling Norton like SOME people.

I feel that HP is good, only if you never try to heavily modify it. And for what I do, that just doesn't work. I still prefer them to Gateway, no offense Gateway ppl.
